Girl, 12, ‘brutally’ killed moments after texting mom ‘someone was knocking on door’
It has been a week since a 12-year-old girl was found brutally murdered and police in the Nashville area have yet to make an arrest.
Yhoana Arteaga was murdered inside the mobile home where she lived and police believe the girl may have known her killer.
A detective told WKRN in Nashwille it was “the most brutal scene he’s witnessed in his career.”
Time reports the girl was killed not long after she texted her mother about someone knocking on the door.
“There was blunt force trauma to the girl’s body and her clothing was in disarray,” said investigators cited by Time in its article.
“It is possible that she knew the murderer,” police cited by Time said.
Anyone with information about her killing is urged to contact Nashville’s Emergency Communications Center at 615-862-8600 or Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463.
