Texas Tech defeats Michigan State; headed to 2019 NCAA championship game

The Texas Tech Red Raiders men’s basketball team defeated the Michigan State Spartans on Saturday night with a score of 61-51.

That means the Red Raiders will face off against the Virginia Cavaliers in the 2019 NCAA championship game.

At this point in history, the UTEP Miners are the only Texas men’s basketball players to have clinched an NCAA championship. In 1966, they were led to victory by the legendary Coach Don Haskins.

Could the Red Raiders be the second Texas team to claim victory?

The 2019 NCAA Tournament will be Monday, April 8th.
