Rescue Mission in Las Cruces receives nearly 100 migrants

U.S. Border Patrol vans filled with Central American migrants arrived at the Gospel Mission in Las Cruces to drop off nearly 100 migrants.

The vans arrived at the rescue mission shortly after 10 a.m. Friday.

Approximately 97 men, women and children from Central America were dropped off, said the City of Las Cruces. The rescue mission expects to receive an additional 50 migrants Friday.

Several agencies and government entities, like Dona Ana County and the New Mexico Department of Health, are assisting the City of Las Cruces caring for the migrants.
