San Elizario chases another state soccer title

San Elizario took on the Palestine Wildcats in the Final Four of the State Championship.

Though the Eagles had bested the Wildcats in last year’s final, Palestine was looking for retribution.

In the first 6 minutes though Eduardo Chavez expertly sent a header from Jonathon Carillo in to the back of net giving the Eagles the early lead.

Coach Max Sappenfield from San Elizario said after the game, “The first team to score will win this game.”

Later in the first half the Wildcats caught an Eagle keeper off his line and on the ground. Palestine could not capitalize though as the ball went out of bound off the shot.

Their would be no scoring in the second half making Coach Sappenfields word prophetic.

The San Elizario Eagles will play this Friday the 19th for the state championship.
