Sheriff’s Office confirms death of Fabens High School teacher in car accident
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office confirmed the death of a teacher in the Fabens Independent School District.
Heriberto Santillana, 51, died after sustaining injuries in a car accident in Tornillo around 11:30 p.m. Friday.
TheSheriff’s Office the accident happened around 2 p.m. on the 18800 block of TX Highway 20. A maroon Chrysler 300 hit a white Ram pickup truck as it was turning onto Oil Mil. After hitting the truck, the Chrysler 300 veered into oncoming traffic, hitting a silver Suzuki Forenza head-on. Santillana was driving the Suzuki Forenza.
Students and Faculty at Fabens high school are expected to hold a vigil for Santillana noon Saturday at Fabens High School.
