BREAKING: Serious pedestrian-involved crash in northeast El Paso

Special Traffic Investigators were called the the scene of a serious crash involving a pedestrian Sunday morning.

At around 3:30 a.m. ABC-7 was informed of the crash that happened near U.S.54 North and Mesquite Hills.

Fire officials said one person was taken to University Medical Center with critical injuries.

Our crews at the scene noticed a bio hazard box on top of a police car at the scene.

Emergency officials would not provide additional details regarding the extent of the injuries the pedestrian sustained.
