Guide to what’s open & closed on Veterans Day in El Paso

EL PASO, Texas -- Most federal, state and local government offices as well as banks, post offices will be closed on Monday in observance of Veterans Day 2019. Here's a look at what's impacted...

Closed

  • School districts closed: EPISD, SISD, YISD, Clint and Canutillo ISD.
  • El Paso Community College is closed
  • City of El Paso administrative and municipal offices are closed
  • County of El Paso administrative offices and courts are closed
  • Federal offices and U.S. financial markets are closed
  • Anything government-owned, like the DMV/DPS and public libraries, is most likely going to be closed.
  • The U.S. Postal Service will not deliver mail on Monday, and post offices are closed as well.
  • Banks are generally closed, although ATMs are always available if you need to deposit a check or get some cash.

Open

  • Target — Open regular hours
  • Walmart — Open regular hours
  • Movie theaters — Open regular hours
  • Malls — Most malls and department stores are open
  • FedEx & UPS — FedEx offices will be open and operating with normal pickups and deliveries. UPS will also pick up and deliver packages as normal.

Sun Metro Service

Sun Metro's fixed Route and LIFT para-transit services will operate on a regular weekday schedule in El Paso.

The administrative offices will be closed Monday in observation of the holiday. Sun Metro’s customer service line at 915-212-3333 will be available between 6 a.m. and 8 p.m. on Monday.

Sun Metro ticket offices will be open at the following locations:

  • Eastside Transfer Center, 1165 Sunmount: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Robert E. McKee Five Points Transfer Center, 2830 Montana: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
  • Bert Williams Downtown Santa Fe Transfer Center, 601 Santa Fe: 6 a.m. to 6 p.m.
