UTEP basketball adds Ranger College transfer Jorell Saterfield

EL PASO, Texas - New UTEP men’s basketball head coach Joe Golding announced his second recruit as Jorell Saterfield, a 6-foot-4 transfer from Ranger College, signed a letter of intent to play for the Miners on Monday afternoon.

Saterfield is no stranger to the borderland after playing his high school hoops in Las Cruces, N.M., at Mayfield. Saterfield will have three years of eligibility to play due to COVID free year.

RANGER COLLEGE 2019-21: Played at Ranger College the previous two seasons … averaged a team-high 18.0 points per game in 27 games played during 2020-21 season … named to 2021 NJCAA All-Tournament team after averaging just over 19 points and eight rebounds per contest … tallied 20-plus points in 10 contests during the season … averaged 5.8 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game … totaled 156 boards and 84 assists … shot 52.0 percent (194-373) from the field … hit 47.1 percent (48-102) from beyond the arc … stroked 80.3 percent (49-61) from the foul line … poured in a career-high 30 points on 11-of-14 shooting from the floor, while adding eight rebounds and three assists in a win against Texas Christian College … tallied 21 points with 11 rebounds and a season-high seven dimes during a victory against Grayson College … scored 23 points and tallied 11 boards in the opening game of the NJCAA D1 Men’s Basketball Championship versus Cochise College … tallied another 23 points in the second round at John A.
