EL PASO, Texas -- The cause of a large fire early Saturday morning at what was described as an outdoor warehouse in east El Paso was under investigation, officials said.

The "Condition 3" fire, one of the higher response levels for firefighter manpower, happened shortly after midnight at 3505 Lee Boulevard near Turner Road at an iron works warehouse.

It was initially dispatched as a "Condition 2" and then upgraded a short time later with a call out for the additional resources. In all, 54 firefighters battled the blaze.

Fire crews reported having it knocked down about an hour later and checked for hotspots.

No injuries were reported, officials said, and investigators were summoned to the scene to look into what ignited the blaze and determine the extent of damage.
