Upper Valley blaze consumes home, burns 2-acres of brush

EL PASO, Texas -- Firefighters were battling an Upper Valley blaze Wednesday evening that consumed a vacant home and was burning brush on a 2-acre lot.

The blaze broke out near Upper Valley Road and Cocula Avenue. Heavy smoke and flames were visible for a quite a distance from the fire scene.

West Valley Fire Department officials said the fire wasn't threatening any other homes at this time and there were no injuries reported.

It wasn't immediately known what ignited the fire.
