Suddenly consistent Kyrgios moves into Citi Open final

KVIA

WASHINGTON (AP) — Nick Kyrgios has reached a second consecutive tournament final for the first time in his career. He beat Mikael Ymer in straight sets at the Citi Open in Washington. Kyrgios was the runner-up at Wimbledon to Novak Djokovic. The 27-year-old Australian is No. 63 in the rankings but would move to 37th if he takes the title Sunday. Kyrgios won at Washington in 2019, the most recent of his six ATP titles. He will play in the final against 96th-ranked Yoshihito Nishioka, who stunned world No. 8 Andrey Rublev in the other semifinal. Earlier Saturday, veteran Kaia Kanepi and Liudmila Samsonova advanced to the women’s final.
