Road conditions in the Borderland with the winter storm moving in
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- With the storm system impacting areas of the borderland, the Texas department of transportation crews are ready at a moment's notice to take care of the roadways.
You may come across roads that are icy.
Winter weather can be unpredictable and create dangerous driving conditions.
TxDOT strongly advises you to stay off the roads. If you have to drive, please be cautious when driving.
If you come across icy roads, Slow down. Speed limits are based on normal road conditions, not winter road conditions.
Give yourself and the vehicles around you space.
Use extra caution on bridges, ramps, overpasses, and shaded areas as they usually will be the first to freeze.
