Electrotherapy treatment helped actor in his recovery; similar treatment available in Borderland

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) - Actor Jeremy Renner is sitting down with ABC News Anchor Diane Sawyer for an exclusive interview four months after a terrible accident that nearly claimed his life.

On New Year's Day, Renner was trying to stop his snow plow from sliding and hitting his nephew when he was crushed under the vehicle. He sustained more than 30 broken bones in his body.

Through his social media, Renner has revealed that he used an electrotherapy treatment to help his body heal faster. ABC-7 learned the treatment is available here in El Paso for Borderland residents. We are also looking into other innovative treatments for our veterans at the El Paso VA Medical Center.

Sawyer's special airs tonight at 10 p.m. on ABC-7.
