El Paso native showing off her weight loss journey to thousands on social media
EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- Savannah Crosby or "@beingsavv" on TikTok is an El Paso native and Bel Air High School graduate who is making a name for herself on social media. Crosby has over 20,000 followers on the app, with nearly 300,000 views.
In her videos, Crosby says an herbal supplement called Berberine has been the catalyst for her weight loss. Everyday Health describes Berberine as a chemical found in different types of plants. Users often describe Berberine as an herbal alternative to Ozempic.
ABC-7 has reached out to Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center El Paso to speak with a local pharmaceutical expert to ask about how the supplement compares to Ozempic, and the possible side effects of Berberine.
