El Paso Congresswoman Veronica Escobar rescues dog near border barrier

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- El Paso Congresswoman Veronica Escobar found and rescued a dog that had become trapped by concertina wire near the U.S./Mexico border.

In a recent Instagram post, the congresswoman wrote that the dog, who she named Rio, now needs a home.

She has been microchipped, cleaned, and vaccinated.

Anyone interested in adopting or fostering Rio is asked to message the congresswoman or her team.
