EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) -- El Paso Police are looking for a missing 11-month-old child. They say Amir De La Luz was taken by his biological father, Ariel De La Luz, on Wednesday, September 13, 2023.

The child lives with his mother on La Luz Avenue in Central El Paso. Ariel got to the house just before 7:30 Wednesday morning and took "advantage of a momentary distraction" to take the child and the mother's 2014 Dodge Avenger.

Police say that they believe the car crossed into Juarez, although they do not know if the child was inside the car when it crossed over.

Ariel De La Luz was last seen wearing a black shirt, black sweatpants, and white shoes. Amir was last seen wearing a diaper.

Anyone with information on the child's whereabouts is asked to call 911.
