Man Killed While Walking Down Dark, Unlit Road

SOCORRO, TX- A late night crash in Socorro leaves a pedestrian dead.

Police tell ABC-7 it happened about 11pm on Socorro Road at Passmore. The victim, 56-year-old Rafael Atillanowas walking along Socorro Road and was hit by an SUV.

Officers say thedriver didn’t appear to be in violation of any traffic laws at the time of the crash.

Speed or alcohol are not believed to be factors in the crash.Police add that they probably will not file any chargesagainst the driver of the SUV.
