Diocese Of Gallup Bishop Being Treated At Houston Hospital

GALLUP, N.M. (AP) – Diocese of Gallup Bishop Donald Pelotte has been transferred from a Phoenix hospital to a Houston hospital.

That word today from the diocese. Pelotte was badly injured in an apparent fall at his home July 23rd. Diocese officials say he was transferred to the Houston hospital partly because his twin brother, the Reverend Dana Pelotte, is a pastor of a Houston parish.

The diocese says the bishop and his brother are members of the Congregation of the Blessed Sacrament, which can provide spiritual support. Hospital officials expect to evaluate Pelotte’s condition over the next few days and determine his treatment.
