Lee Trevino Extension Plan Gets Mixed Reaction
EL PASO, TX – Lower Valley residents still have a mixed reaction to the proposed Lee Trevino extension plan as city officials continue to debate the fate of the project.
The project will result in a major cut in commute time for some Lower Valley residents. The plan will call for Lee Trevino to be extended from its intersection with North Loop, where it currently ends, to the Border Highway parallel to Pendale road.
As a result of the project, several homes in the areas will have to be seized by the city through eminent domain.
“I’m not too much for the Lee Trevino extension only because of the noise. I don’t like the noise and the traffic that’d be passing through here,” stated Elsa Beard, a Lower Valley resident.
“On my blueprint it shows Lee Trevino outside my house…I really have no complaint about them putting it in,” said John Kelly, a Lower Valley resident who found out his property will not be affected by the proposed extension.
