Pre-Dawn Showers Cause Only Few Problems
EL PASO, TX. – No rain is fallingas residentsawaken Monday morning, but while many peoplewere sleeping, parts of the borderland were getting a generous soaking by Mother Nature.
Southeastern El Paso County was under a flood advisory from 12:55 a.m.until 4:00 am.ABC-7 spent some time in FabensMonday morning andthere were nomajor problems out there,other thansome slick roadwaysall the way out to Sierra Blanca.Driverstraveling that way will want toget a head startthis morning sothey can take it a little slower out there.
Wet roadwayswere alsoseenon El Paso’s westside as well which may slow down some commuters. El Paso Police said fortunately it was a pretty quiet night for them, the overnight stormsnot causing anysignificant damage other than a few fallen tree branches. There were no reports of flooding, though parts of the Lower Valley were dealing with a large power outageMonday morning.
El Paso Electric says the loss of power was probably due to those overnight storms, but they were still trying to determine the specific cause.
