Ft. Bliss Soldiers Honored With Purple Heart

EL PASO, TX. – A few of our nation’ssoldiers from Ft. Blissare Purple Heart recipients today.

The4th brigade combat team -1st Cavalry Division – held a Purple Heart ceremony today at the Air Defense Artillery Museum on Fort Bliss. In all, eight soldiers received the decoration for combat wounds they suffered in serving our country.

Officials say El Paso’s appreciation of Fort Bliss soldiers has been more than generous: “The one thing thatI do wanna’ say, isI want to thank the City of El Paso. Very few cities reach out to their wounded soldiers as much as El Paso has. I get thanks no matter whereI go,” said Staff Sergeant Scott Gentry.

The ceremony also recognized more than 40 civilian volunteers for their contributions in support of army programs at Fort Bliss.
