Albuquerque Substitute Teacher Nabbed In Colorado

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. (AP) – A substitute teacher accused of videotaping up the skirt of a student at an Albuquerque elementary school has been nabbed in Colorado.

The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Department and the U.S. Marshals Service says 63-year-old Robert Ashley was captured early this morning at a motel in Montrose. An informant in Colorado tipped the Marshals Service last night that Ashley was staying at the motel.

Ashley had been sought on one count of voyeurism of a child. An arrest warrant was issued after staff at Atrisco Elementary School found a camera with footage of a student’s legs as she sat at her desk. Sheriff’s deputies had tried to take Ashley into custody in Albuquerque on Monday, but neighbors told them that he had moved away.
