Sun Metro Raises Rates For County-City Transfers

EL PASO, TX. – A new agreement between Sun Metro and El Paso County means some borderland residents will have to shell out a bit more cash to get where they need to go.

The mutual agreement means some bus passengers in El Paso County will need to pay more when transferring from certain routes. These fare changes all go into effect Monday. Those routes affected are: 10, 20, 30, and 40.

Route10 covers Anthony and Canutillo, 20 services the Montana Vista area. Route 30 picks up passengers in Horizon and 40 covers Fabens and Tornillo. These passengers will need to pay the corresponding bus fares when they are transferring from those county routes to the Sun Metro fixed routes in the city becausethe ten cent transfer fee will no longer be accepted.

That’s one dollar for adults, 50 cents for students, active military, children aged 6 to 18, and30cents for senior citizens and people with disabilities. To find out information onthe fares go to KVIA.com and click on “ABC-7 Links” for a link to the city’s webpage.
