San Antonio Weekly Admits Plagiarizing Express-News

SAN ANTONIO, TX.(AP) – The publishers of a weekly newspaper in San Antonio have admitted to plagiarizing four stories that first ran in the San Antonio Express-News.

Three of the stories published in the San Antonio Observer carried identical headlines to the stories published by the Express-News. They stories first ran Oct. 17 to 19.

Yvonne Armstrong, a spokeswoman for the Observer, says quote: “We sincerely apologize. The situation was caused by an inexperienced person. That problem has been remedied.”

The Observer plans to print a story and apology acknowledging the plagiarism in its edition scheduled for circulation next week.
