Texas Gasoline Prices Up Penny, El Paso Lowest In State

HOUSTON (AP) – Retail gasoline prices across Texas rose one penny this week to reach an average $2.86 per gallon.

The AAA Texas survey results, released Friday, indicated the upward price follows three weeks of declines.

The association says the cost of gasoline in metro areas of Texas is 67 cents higher than one year ago.

AAA Texas spokeswoman Marie Montgomery says it’s been another record-setting year for gas prices both statewide and nationwide.

The nationwide average retail gasoline price this week is $3, also up one cent.

El Paso had the lowest gas price in the weekly survey, at $2.79 per gallon. Texarkana had the highest average, at $2.94.
