Authorities Find A Body, A Human Ear In A Pot In Tyler
TYLER, Texas (AP) – A Tyler man accused in the grisly mutilation killing of his girlfriend appeared in court today on a capital murder charge.
No plea was immediately entered for 25-year-old Christopher Lee McCuin in a case where the victim’s body parts were found in a kitchen.
McCuin remains in custody on two million dollars bond. The judge also sealed the arrest and search warrants. McCuin is accused in the weekend killing of Jana Shearer.
Smith County Sheriff J.B. Smith says McCuin is also the suspect in Saturday’s stabbing of a man described as his estranged wife’s boyfriend. William Veasley is hospitalized.
McCuin’s record includes driving while intoxicated and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon charges. McCuin was facing a felony retaliation warrant at the time of his arrest Saturday.
