Hearing Scheduled For Teen In Alleged Hijacking Plot

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – A hearing is scheduled this afternoon for a California teenager accused of plotting to hijack a plane from Los Angeles to Nashville.

A juvenile court judge is expected to decide whether to release the teen, who was removed from a Southwest Airlines flight Tuesday night at Nashville International Airport.

He is being held at a juvenile detention facility. An FBI spokesman says the teen had handcuffs, rope and duct tape in his bag and was believed to be traveling alone.

He made no attempt to hijack the plane. The teen has not been identified by authorities.
