Sen. Hutchison Not Interested In Being Vice President

DALLAS (AP) – Some Republicans think Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchisoncould be John McCain’s running mate, but the Texas Republican says she’s not interested in being vice president.

Hutchison appeared on ABC TV’s “This Week” on Sunday and said McCain “has a lot of options” for a running mate.

The Texas Republican has previously said she wasn’t seeking the job but wouldn’t turn it down if offered.

She is also considering running for Texas governor in 2010.

Hutchison didn’t endorse McCain until after he won most of the delegates in the Feb. 5 Super Tuesday contests and virtually sewed up the GOP nomination.
