Artist Awarded $30,000 For Her School

By ABC-7 Anchor Estela Casas

EL PASO, Texas – A 7th grader at Jane Hambric School was awarded $30,000 for her campus, thanks to her artwork. “Corporate Express” delivered supplies and furniture to Stephanie Flores’s school on Thursday.

Stephanie, along with hundreds of students throughout the country submitted art work to the company’s art context. Her entry was chosen and will be on the cover of the 2009 Product Solutions for School Catalog.

Stephanie told ABC-7 she felt like a superstar with all the attention she got. School administrators said the money will be used to buy white boards, computer monitors, books and pay for field trips.

Stephanie will get to enjoy all the new goodies for her school but thanks to ABC-7 and Prices Creameries, she’ll get to enjoy a $200 check that is all her own. Stephanie is April’s honor roll winner.
