Thomason Hospital On Lockdown

EL PASO, Texas – Thomas Hospital was put on lockdown Friday afternoon after two men from Casas Grandes, Mexico were transported there with gunshot wounds.

ABC-7 wastherewhen the men arrived by ambulance to Thomason Hospital just before3:30 p.m. One man was escorted into the facilitylimping, while the other was carried in on a stretcher.

According our news partners in Juarez, the two men arethe Casas Grandes police commander and his assistant. Theysaid the twowere ambushed Friday morning by a group of men in a red SUV. OUr news partners at channel 56 said the SUV was later found abandoned in a nearby town with weapons and casings inside the vehicle. The assistant was shot in the face and torso, our sources report.

Officers from the El Paso Police Department and the El Paso Sheriff’s Officer are providing extra security at the facility. The hospital was placed on lockdown shortly after their arrival.
