Fourth Of July Closings

Music Under the Stars – The El Paso Symphony Orchestra will play at the Music Under the Stars Fourth of July Fireworks Spectacular. The event will start at 7:30 p.m. Friday at the Chamizal National Memorial, 800 S. San Marcial Street. The first 5,000 visitors will receive free 3D fireworks glasses. Free parking will be available at the El Paso Zoo with free trolley service to the Chamizal running every 15 minutes from 6:30-10:30 p.m. No pets or glass containers are allowed.

Diablos Fireworks – Fireworks Extravaganza will be after the game on Friday against Grand Prairie. The game starts at 6:30 p.m.

Wet ‘n’ Wild Water World – Firework shows are scheduled Friday and Saturday.

Western Playland – The park will have a Fireworks Spectacular Friday night.

La Vina Winery Old Fashioned Country Picnic – The winery in La Union, New Mexico, will host the picnic from noon to 6 p.m. Friday. The event will feature music by Live By Request. A water slide is available for kids. Guests are invited to bring their own picnic, though no outside alcohol will be allowed. The event is free with wine tasting offered for $3. Food and drinks will be available for purchase at the event.

Wells Fargo Electric Light Parade – The parade will start at 9 p.m. Thursday at the corner of Madrid Avenue and Solano Drive. Following the parade, the country band Highway 101 will perform at the Hadley Complex at 1605 E. Hadley.

Fourth of July Street Fest – The city will hold the following Street Fest events:

4 p.m. – Bling Bling Car Show 4:30, 5:30 and 6:30 p.m. – PBS’s Arthur and Ms. Paige Turner 4 p.m. – Local bands 7 p.m. – Imagine: Remembering the Fab Four 8:30 p.m. – The Commodores in concert 10 p.m. – Mayor Ken Miyagishima’s Welcome Annual Fireworks Display

All events are free.

Federal offices will be closed Friday.

U.S. post offices will be closed Friday and there will be no mail delivery.

El Paso County offices will be closed Friday.

El Paso City Hall and recreation and senior centers will be closed Friday. Garbage and recycling collections will remain on regular schedules. Landfill and Citizen Collection Stations will be closed Friday. All Sun Metro bus routes will operate on a regular Sunday schedule on Friday. Indoor aquatic centers will be open from 1-5 p.m. Friday. Hours for outdoor aquatic center hours will vary.

Dona Ana County offices will be closed Friday.

The following will be closed Friday:

City Hall RoadRUNNER Transit and all bus services Municipal court Recreation centers Senior centers Museums

Trash pickup will operate on a regular schedule in Las Cruces. Recycling centers will be closed.

City pools will be open.
