Hunter Biden’s tax trial set for September as judge agrees to delay, with gun trial still in June

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Hunter Biden is scheduled to stand trial on federal tax charges in September after a judge granted his request to delay the trial that had been approaching next month. President Joe Biden’s son is still scheduled to stand trial beginning June 3 on federal gun charges in a Delaware case. Hunter Biden has pleaded not guilty to both indictments, which his lawyers claim are politically motivated. Prosecutors opposed the delay request in the tax case, saying Hunter Biden “is not above the rule of law and should be treated like any other defendant.” Both cases are overseen by judges nominated by then-President Donald Trump, a Republican seeking to unseat the Democratic president.
