Fire Breaks Out At Home Near ASARCO

EL PASO, Texas — El Paso Fire Department officials say that a fire that broke out about 3 a.m. Sunday in a home near ASARCO was intentionally set.

Seven fire units were called to the home in the 2300 block of West Paisano.

Officials said it took almost 50 minutes to bring the fire under control. Total damages were estimated at $30,000. Arson is a 2nd Degree felony punishable by 2 to 20 years in prison and/or up to a $10,000.00 fine.

One firefighter suffered minor injuries to his leg when his foot went through a hole on the floor, officials said, but there were no injuries to civilians.
