Arson Fire Damages Comic Strip

EL PASO — An overnight arson fire caused over $1,000 in damages to the Comic Strip, El Paso Fire Department officials said Wednesday.

The fire was discovered Wednesday morning by an employee of the business in the 9500 block of Gateway West. Fire marshals investigators determined the fire was intentionally set. Damages were to two metal doors at the front of the business.

No injuries were reported to firefighters or civilians, officials said.

Anyone with information on any of these arson fires is urged to call Crime Stoppers at 566-8477 (TIPS) or they can call the Fire Marshals Office at 771-1090. Arson is a second degree felony punishable by 2 to 20 years in prison and/or up to a $10,000 fine.
