UTEP Gets $1.6 Million For Defense Systems Research

EL PASO — UTEP’s Center for Defense Systems Research has been awarded a $1.6 million grant, UTEP officials announced Tuesday.

Through the center, researchers from the fields of science, engineering and business conduct research in defense systems and border issues. The center was established in 2006.

The funds were included in a recently approved federal appropriations bill, officials said.
