Fort Bliss Looking For Families To ‘Adopt’ Soldiers For Thanksgiving
EL PASO, Texas — Fort Bliss is looking for local families to host soldiers for Thanksgiving in their Adopt A Soldier program.
Each year during Thanksgiving, Fort Bliss is home to several hundred soldiers who are unable to go home for the holiday. Fort Bliss and El Paso have teamed up the past several years to provide soldiers a home-cooked meal with local families.
Fort Bliss officials say if you are interested in sponsoring at least two soldiers,fill outthe online form. Fort Bliss officials will contact you with additional information.
According to theAdopt A SoldierWeb site, families will meet with soldiers at Stout Gym on Fort Bliss at 8 a.m. Thanksgiving Day. Families must live within 50 miles of Fort Bliss, and soldiers must be back by 10 p.m. You must present a valid picture ID that matches the name on the Adopt A Soldier form.
