Eight units damaged in apartment fire in East El Paso

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA)-- The fire occurred at the Dos Santos apartment located at 3541 peerless place in El Paso. The fire occurred shortly before 3pm. Officials say there are no reported injuries but 6 of the 8 units were occupied.

Fernando Zeh, El Paso Fire spokesperson says they are investigating what caused the fire. Some of the residents were seen packing bags and leaving the units preparing to stay some where else tonight. Zeh says they have no estimated time frame for when those residents can return home.

The unit that was most affected by the fire belonged to a couple who was hearing impaired. The women told me through sign language that everyone was safe and she felt sad.
