New Resources Can Help Military Spouses Find Jobs

EL PASO, Texas — When your spouse’s job is constantly on the move, it can be difficult to get a job.

“In two years, I’ve lived in three different states. When you have a college education, you think that’s a really great background to have…but when your spouse is in the military, it’s just harder to find employment,” said Megan Malone, a military spouse.

The situation is no different here in the Borderland for the thousands of military spouses who sacrifice their career to support their loved ones.

The Texas Workforce Commission wants to let military spouses know there is help for wives and husbands who are tired of always having to start over.

These new resources include special funding for people forced to leave their jobs due to their spouses’ relocation to Fort Bliss.

The funding can be used to find jobs and internships, fund child care and even to help further your education.
