Man Gets Trapped In Dog Food Silo In Lower Valley

EL PASO, Tx. – A 49-year-old man was trapped in a silo filled with dog food for about 30 minutes Monday morning, El Paso Fire Department officials said.

Eight fire units responded to the scene about 11:20 a.m. The man became trapped up to his shoulders while conducting maintenance on the silo in the 400 block of Inglewood in the Lower Valley, officials said.

The man was an employee for Pets Barn. Pets Barn employees tried to pull him out, butwhen were not able to, they called the Fire Department. A hole was cut on the side of the silo to allow some of the dog food to drain out.

The man was evaluated at the scene by fire medical personnel but he did not want to be transported to the hospital.

No injuries were reported.
