6 New Scabies Cases Reported At EPISD And YISD

EL PASO, Texas — A total of six new cases of scabies were reported Tuesday in the El Paso and Ysleta school districts.

Two new scabies cases were reported Tuesday in the El Paso ISD, district spokeswoman Berenice Zubia said. She said one case was reported at Logan Elementary and the other was at Guillen Middle School.

This is in addition to two new cases of scabiesthat were reported Monday at Hughey Elementary School, Zubia said.

Ysleta ISD officials said that four new cases of scabies had been reported as of 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.One caseeach was reported at Bel Air High School, Eastwood Heights Elementary, Ascarate Elementary and Cadwallader Elementary.

Fifty-five cases of scabies had been reported in Ysleta ISD students before spring break, which was last week.

No new employee cases were reported.
