Car Fire Slows I-10 East Traffic Near Airway Exit
EL PASO, Texas — A car fire brieflystopped trafficon I-10 East just past the Airway exit about 4:30 p.m. Tuesday.
Flames engulfeda mid-90s Mercury Grand Marquison the shoulder of the road, and large clouds of black smoke were visible.
Firefighters were able to control the fire about 4:40 p.m. The fire slowed traffic for about an hour after it broke out.
Border Patrol agents attempted to stop the fire with fire extinguishers before firefighters arrived but were unsuccessful.
