EL PASO, Texas — A man was charged with unlawful possession of a handgun after an alleged racing incident Tuesday afternoon in Northeast El Paso, El Paso police said.
About 12:45 p.m., an officer conducting a traffic stop spotted a 2003 black Ford Mustang apparently racing another vehicle southbound in the 8700 block of Dyer St., police said.
Officers caught up with the vehicle at the intersection of Dyer and Hercules as the driver, 24-year-old Keith Stoker, waited for the traffic light to change.
Investigators determined that Stoker was racing another vehicle and that he was in possession of a handgun, police said.
Stoker was booked into the El Paso County Jail and charged with racing on a highway and unlawful possession of a handgun.
