HACEP Announces New Veterans’ Housing Program

The Housing Authority of the City of El Paso (HACEP) has announced a program to help homeless veterans receive housing and support in cooperation with El Paso Veterans Affairs Healthcare Services and Integrity Asset Management.

The HACEP Board of Commissioners approved the Shelter Plus Care Veterans Lodge Program on March 25, which would provide $425,700 in rental assistance to chronically homeless disabled veterans.

This rental assistance is designed to help homeless veterans live in 15 one-bedroom apartments managed by Integrity Asset Management, an El Paso-based company.

In addition to the housing, the Shelter Plus Care program will also provide support services like drug and mental health counseling to these veterans.

Homeless veterans who wish to enroll in the HACEP Shelter Plus Care program will need to be referred through the VA. For more information please call Joel Arrigucci at (915) 564-6159.
