CBP Agents Seize Over 979 Pounds Of Pot In The Last Month

U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers have made seven drug busts at the Columbus, NM port of entry over the past four weeks, netting over 979 pounds of marijuana.

On April 1 at 9:20pm, CBP officers seized over 327 pounds of marijuana, concealed in a 2002 Ford Ranger driven by 28-year-old Yolanda Valdez of Deming.

On March 24, officers seized over 117 pounds of marijuana concealed in a 2000 Ford F-150, and arrested a 19-year-old Mexican man from Agua Prieta, Mexico.

Also on March 24, officers seized over 46 pounds of marijuana, hidden in a 2005 Chevrolet Tornado. The agents arrested a 19-year-old Mexican man from Chihuahua City, Mexico.

On March 18, officers seized over 134 pounds of marijuana, hidden in a 1994 Jeep Grand Cherokee; the person arrested was a 27-year-old U.S. man from Denver.

On March 15, officers seized over 116 pounds of marijuana, concealed in a 1996 Ford Explorer. They arrested a 20-year-old U.S. man from Colorado Springs.

On March 11, officers seized over 146 pounds of marijuana, hidden in a 1988 Chevrolet 1500. The agents arrested a 55-year-old U.S. man from Douglas, Arizona.

And on March 5, officers seized over 89 pounds of marijuana, hidden in a 1996 Chevrolet Blazer. They arrested a 64-year-old Mexican man from Fruita, Colorado.
