Power Outages Cause Trouble Saturday Night

Twopower outages left someSun City residentsin the dark Saturday night.

According to officials from El Paso Electric, 2700 customers in North Central El Pasolost power beginning around 7:15pm.

Crews were able to restore power to most of these customers an hour later, but it took longer to bring power back for 500 others.

A police officer told ABC-7 strong winds were likely to blame for the downed power lines.

He said the main concern was the safety of vehicles or pedestrians who might encounter these lines. Meanwhile, a car wreck caused another outage on nearby U.S. 54, leaving some drivers in the dark.

Overall, this second outage affected people living in the Summit Place and Military Heights areas.
