SPECIAL REPORT AT 10: Gangs Behind Bars

EL PASO, Texas — Criminal activity in El Paso doesn’t just happen out on the streets. Nearly half the population of the El Paso County Jail Annex are in gangs, according to jail staff. As a result, the men and women tasked with keeping tabs on these inmates are always on alert.

“This event will mark the first time in the Sheriff’s Office’s 157-year history where local media has been granted access to cover such a sensitive and dangerous topic,” El Paso County Sheriff’s Office spokesman Jesse Tovar said.

Tonight at 10, ABC-7 reporter Ken Molestina presents Part 1 of “Gangs Behind Bars.”
