In the past few weeks, authorities have been told of young men and women going door-to-door offering magazine subscriptions.

These solicitors claim to be part of a national contest, saying they earn points by selling magazine subscriptions.

Authorities have found these solicitors to be fraudulent, and the phone numbers these solicitors provide turn out to be disconnected.

In another scam, solicitors make door-to-door offers for home remodeling and security systems.

Las Cruces Police advise residents to refrain from providing personal and financial information to door-to-door solicitors.
