POLICE: Man Busted For DWI Had Child Porn Photos In Cell
EL PASO, Texas — Police say a man driving on the wrong side of a street was not only drunk, but carrying child pornography images ina cell phone.
A police officer arrested Ashley Eugene Sullivan, 30, of the 11200 block of Pocahontas, just after midnight Saturday. The police officer said he noticed Sullivan driving the wrong way on the 200 block of Ochoa street in Downtown El Paso. The street is a one-way street.
Sullivan was arrested after the officer noticed he was drunk. According to police officials, the officer also noticed thata cell phone inside the car Sullivan was driving was openly displaying child pornography images.
A detective from the police department’s Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) unit was called to the scene to take over the investigation. The detective later discoveredover 50 images of child pornography were stored on the cell phone, according to police officials.
Sullivan was booked in to the El Paso County Detention Facility Downtownon charges of Possession of Child Pornography and Driving While Intoxicated.
His bond was set $50,600.
