UTEP Coach Mike Price Suspends QB Trevor Vittatoe From Team
EL PASO, TEXAS – UTEP Coach Mike Price announced on Monday that quarterback Trevor Vittatoe, wide receiver Pierce Hunter and offensive lineman Alex Solot are all suspended for the start of spring football for violating team rules, according to a UTEP news release.
Price did not specify what rules were violated.
“They won’t be a part of the team for the next two weeks. They won’t be in the weight room, on the sidelines or in the locker room,” Price said. “They will be punished accordingly through physical activity.”
The Miners will kick off spring drills on Thursday at 3:30 p.m. at Glory Field. Hunter, Solot and Vittatoe would miss the first six practices of the spring and be eligible to return on Tuesday, April 6, Price said. UTEP has 15 practices scheduled capped by the annual Spring Game on Saturday, April 24.
