Crash Victim’s Family Located

Las Cruces Police have contacted a relative of a man who was seriously injured in a crash last week.

Anthony Santiago, 46, is being cared for at University Medical Center in El Paso where his health continues to improve. He now is listed in stable condition.

With the help from several leads that came to police, officers were able to contact a relative of Santiago who lives in New York.

Police were attempting to locate Santiago ‘s family but, until Wednesday, March 24, were unable to identify any relatives. The only form of identification Santiago had at the time of the crash was a bus pass with his name and date of birth.

At around 11:20 p.m. on Wednesday, March 17, Santiago was walking on Bataan Memorial East between Sonoma Ranch Boulevard and Mesa Grande Drive when he was struck by an automobile. The driver of the car called 911 and Santiago was transported to the hospital in El Paso.
